Is this something that changed with patch 1.12.2?Īny insight on this issue would be very much appreciated. I've had the game since beta, and binge play it for a few months every year or so, but I've never had this problem before from mob spawners of this type.
Is this normal? Am I missing something? Can this be fixed? However the same non-negligible number of zombies are dying from their 21 block fall. I thought it was weird so I decided to drop the height they dropped from 23 to 21 and removed one section of the water/sign bridge. For some reason a non-negligible number of zombies were dying on impact from that height. I completed the mob grinder so that the zombies dropped a height of 23 blocks. 22 or 23 blocks is the primo height, so say we all. Well, all the youtube videos and guides I looked at said that if they drop 24 blocks or more the zombies will die, which is no good for experience grinders. They drop into water, which funnels them into a water/sign elevator, finally dropping from a height that is supposed to bring them within an inch of un-life, and then I whack them once or twice with a wooden sword to reap the benefits. I found a zombie spawner on my single player survival map near my base (yay!) and made the classic mob grinder for it. So sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere, I just couldn't find anything using the Reddit search engine (lol) or Google.
